Harriet Young
Harriet has been a resident of Arizona for 32 years since 1992.
She has a PH.D. in Political Science and an Honors in History. She was educated at Vanderbilt University, North Carolina, Greensboro and Tulane University.
In 1992, Professor Harriet Young started teaching Political Science at Northern Arizona University, focusing on The Legislative Process, Political Parties and Interest Groups, State and Local Government, Religion, and Politics, to name a few.
In addition to teaching, she was involved in many community groups and service organizations. Her community Service was dedicated to women rights-Commission on the Status of Women, American Association of University Women, and Planned Parenthood; Education, serving on the Coconino County Community College Summer Program Board and the Alumni Board. Held numerous positions with the Arizona Democratic Party and currently serves on the Flagstaff Public Library Board.
She is dedicated to training and electing tomorrow’s leaders. Conversations with Harriet include a history lesson and ideas on civic involvement. She is dedicated to inspiring the leaders of tomorrow, understanding American history, and how we got to where we are.
