Karan English
Karan has lived in Arizona for 45 years. She received her BA in Anthropology at the University of Arizona and her Master of Sustainable Design at Northern Arizona University (NAU).
Karan served in public office for 14 years, from Coconino County Supervisor, the Arizona State Legislature, and Arizona Senate to the U.S. Congress.
She participated in democracy programs around the world, working with countries to establish democracy, training women’s workshops, and reviewing free and fair elections in 19 countries. Concurrently, for 15 years, Karan worked at NAU, focusing on student participation, involvement, and connection to the environment.
In 2008, she was appointed to the Office of Congressional Ethics in Washington, D.C., serving for 14 years.
Today, Karan is dedicated to preserving the American Democracy, encouraging voting rights for Arizona citizens. She is focused on environmental projects and climate change, Women’s health and abortion rights, and education from K-12, community colleges, trade schools and universities.
